Pantheon

The amazing Pantheon at night. Built by Hadrian where Marcus Agrippa's original temple (27 BC) stood (you can still see Agrippa's name in the inscription on the pediment), this stoic temple-turned-church has been hanging around since AD 120. Sporting original bronze doors, it's the dome that takes the breath away: a perfect semisphere and the ancient Romans' finest architectural feat. Lit by a 9m oculus, it's a surreal sight when rain falls through in a mesmerising column. Something more on YouTube where I made and posted a short video by Nikon Coolpix A. Click HERE to watch it
