Night scenery of the amazing Pantheon (built by Marcus Agrippa, in 27 BC, during the reign of Emperor Augustus ). No other monument suggests the grandeur of ancient Rome as magnificently as this temple whose early conversion to a place of Christian workship has rendered in the most perfect of the city's ancient monuments. Under floodlights and romantic under moonlight this Roman wonder is really spectacular

Rose Garden

The gates to one of Rome’s most romantic gardens are open in spring at the foot of the Aventino Hill. In May, 1,100 rose varieties triumphantly blossom in innumerable colours and scents, adding their magic to an already very special park. These exceptionally beautiful grounds in fact also offer us a chance to forget the noise of the city traffic for one moment and enjoy a wonderful view onto the Circus Maximus (Circo Massimo) and the Palatine Hill. But don't forget the rose garden is only open during a some spring months when the roses are obviously in flower

This typical kind of pavement is named "Sampietrini" (or Sanpietrini) and you can find it in all the streets in the centre of Rome. It is made of bevelled stones of black basalt, placed one next to the other. It was invented under Pope Sixtus V (1521-1590) and was used to pave all the main streets of the eternal city, because it was superior to other forms of paving in terms of the transit of carriages
