Circo Massimo

Once this place was the Circus Maximus (Latin for greatest or largest circus), the first and largest Roman chariot racing stadium and mass entertainment venue, situated in the valley between the Aventine and Palatine hills, not so far from our Hotel Montecarlo Roma. It was built in 329 BC and the total number of seats is uncertain, but was probably in the order of 250,000
